    Getting TO/AROUND: Chilko Lake can be dangerous to small boaters and canoeists because of the almost continuous wind that blows up the lake from the south. Use extreme caution and have all your life saving equipment in good order. It's a big lake, over 85 km long and about 3-6 km wide. The water is very cold all year.

    Getting TO/AROUND: There is a nice grass airstrip at the south end of Tsuniah Lake which serves the nearby lodge. While I was there in the summer of 2007, there were two planes there unloading sightseers.

    The airport runway is 4000 feet in length and at an elevation of 4000 feet.

     Chilko Lake is beautiful, but I strongly advise against the Lodge. The owner, Brian McCutcheon kept stringing my family along about a possible raft trip. When we arrived the raft trip was cancelled and Brian was very rude.    		sourbugger Fri Oct 19, 2007 11:58 UTC
