 | Visit the station by tiabunna You can be sure that you'll be made welcome by the people living there (see restaurants tip). All the 'new' buildings are clad in rather dull looking treated pine. The climate is constantly moist and the air salty, so exposed untreated timber or metal needs ongoing maintenance and painting. The treated pine is a good solution to the maintenance problem.  | Whitney Trail - Trail Crest by Hopkid After surviving the 99 or so switchbacks, you reach a ridge known as Trail Crest. This ridge divides the wilderness between the Inyo National Forest (from which you just came) and Sequoia National Park (on the other side of the ridge and where the rest of the trail is located). Kissimmee, Florida – What do you think?
This month, we’ve got a new ad partner - the Kissimmee, Florida Convention and Visitors Bureau who is showing off some of their area travel activities on our Kissimmee Top 10 page. My brother lives in Florida, and I’ve visited a bunch of times, but I’ve never been to Kissimmee, so I’m wondering from VT’ers who know the place, what I should expect to see and do if I visit. If you haven't read up on this wild adventure across the Caucasus Mountains, go to CaucasianChallenge. It’s an exciting and whacky race starting in Budapest, Hungary on August 30 and concluding September 15 in Yerevan, Armenia. The team representing VirtualTourist will be handing out special picture cards as they meet members, and potential members, along the way. So, if you’re anywhere in the vicinity, please cheer on our group as it crosses eleven countries on its way to the finish line. We hope the new team carries on the tradition set by the victors of the Autorickshaw Challenge of 2008 led by our own General Manager, Giampiero Ambrosi.
The Caucasian Challenge and Autorickshaw Challenge is sponsored by the same charitable organization.
