Zürich Off the Beaten Path | |
 | Botanical Garden by yumyum I consider the Botanical Garden off beaten track as it is not the usual tourist site. But if you are in Zürich longer then it could be a possibility to visit this place. There are 3 greenhouses with the themes savannah, subtropical and tropical. They are open all year round (in winter till 4 pm). Entry is free of charge.  | Out of Africa by sachara In Turmi in the far southwest of Ethiopia we stayed at the Evangadi Campsite. Because of the extreme heat and dust we decided to hire a fixed tent with a roof, which protected the tent against the burning sun. To increase the ''Out of Africa'' feeling we opened the backside of our tent to catch some breeze and for a view at the savannah and bush behind. Kissimmee, Florida – What do you think?
This month, we’ve got a new ad partner - the Kissimmee, Florida Convention and Visitors Bureau who is showing off some of their area travel activities on our Kissimmee Top 10 page. My brother lives in Florida, and I’ve visited a bunch of times, but I’ve never been to Kissimmee, so I’m wondering from VT’ers who know the place, what I should expect to see and do if I visit. If you haven't read up on this wild adventure across the Caucasus Mountains, go to CaucasianChallenge. It’s an exciting and whacky race starting in Budapest, Hungary on August 30 and concluding September 15 in Yerevan, Armenia. The team representing VirtualTourist will be handing out special picture cards as they meet members, and potential members, along the way. So, if you’re anywhere in the vicinity, please cheer on our group as it crosses eleven countries on its way to the finish line. We hope the new team carries on the tradition set by the victors of the Autorickshaw Challenge of 2008 led by our own General Manager, Giampiero Ambrosi.
The Caucasian Challenge and Autorickshaw Challenge is sponsored by the same charitable organization.
