Victoria and Butchart Gardens

Sunday, May 22, 1994

I visited Victoria on Sunday May 22, 1994 on a day trip from Seattle. I was in Seattle for 2 weeks training.

I paid $115.00 for the tour and tipped the driver $3.00. I had a voucher to get from my hotel to the bus and gave a $.50 tip to the taxi.

The bus left very early and went to Anacortes where it embarked on a ferry. I think we had brunch on the ferry or in the bus for $11.15 (plus I ate the fruit cup of another man on the tour who didn't want it). The bill says Marriot on it.

The ferry stopped off at Friday Island. Then the ferry put us off north of Victoria and we went to Butchart Gardens.

I spent $38.92 in the Butchart Gardens gift shop (800 Benvenuto Ave, Brentwood Bay, BC) where I got my mom an iris night light among other things. I also ate lunch at the gardens which cost me $14.34.

Then the bus tour took us through Victoria and let us off at the harbor.

I walked to the Museum, where I got my husband a 35th anniversary present of jade at

I also went to the Edinburgh Tartan Shop, Shop Express

where I got a woolen tie in the tartan of my husband's mom.

I was a little tired by this time so I went to the Empress Hotel and had
tea $14.02 (quiche and tea)

Then I rode the Victoria Clipper back to Seattle, getting in late in the evening.
